Electronic Apostille. How to validate your documents for use in other countries?

Did you know it can now perform Electronic Apostille to validate Brazilian documents for use abroad?

Electronic Apostille is a procedure in which a national document receives international recognition through a certificate, becoming accepted in more than 120 countries that have signed The Hague Apostille Convention.

The National Council of Justice (CNJ), in partnership with the Brazilian College of Notaries (CNB), made available in June 2022 the service of Electronic Apostille of national documents so that they can be used abroad. This service will make life easier for thousands of Brazilians who find themselves at a loss when they need this kind of service, especially if they live outside Brazil.

The novelty makes it possible to receive a series of documents, such as Birth Certificates, and Marriage Certificates, among other national public documents, in electronic format. The documents obtained can have their authenticity verified by foreign authorities through a QR Code provided with the record.

So, the apostille that used to be done only in person and at authorized notaries is now within reach and can be done online. Thus, if you wish to request your Electronic Apostille, you can do so via the 'Apostil Platform', which brings together all the notary offices accredited in Brazil.
